The walks listed below are primarily for members only, but if you wish to attend as a visitor or guest please send an email to outings@sos.org.uk giving your name and which outing you’d like to attend. Parents and/or guardians of children (under 18) wishing to attend an outing or event should contact us to discuss appropriate arrangements. Contact details can be found in our Safeguarding policy. Please note that no dogs are allowed on SOS walks.

The online webinars are for everyone to enjoy.

Meet at 07.00 on the beach to the right of Splash point groyne. Telescope and chair recommended. Warm clothes can also be useful. 4-5 hours or leave when you wish. Toilets near Martello tower or in Buckle car park.

Meet outside in courtyard at 10.00 when visitor centre opens. Free entry for RSPB members or admission fee payable. Good walking trail throughout and various hides. Probably two miles so half day, Bus 100 runs between Pulborough station, Henfield, and Horsham. Bus stops outside reserve. Waders and woodland species can be seen and heard. Suitable for younger members of the family. Cafe and toilets.

Meet at 09.00 in Exceat car park (parking charge) for half day walk down to the beach. Good flat walking conditions about three miles. Several benches along the route. Variety of waders on the river and summer migrants will be looked for along the trail. Toilets in visitor centre across the A259 on the Eastbourne Road. Bus 12 from Eastbourne or Brighton.

Meet at 09.00 at the small car park at the far (east) end of Tennyson's Lane on the sharp bend. From Haslemere (via A286 and A287) leave on B2131, turn right up Haste Hill, follow onto Tennyson's Lane. All day so bring lunch and water. Good footwear recommended.

Please check SOS website as meeting point may change depending on bird sightings. Parking charge via app or phone. Torch and insect repellent recommended. Terrain will be grass paths. About 2 miles.
