1938 One along the undercliff at Rottingdean (ES) in early June (probably 4th) was seen running up and down the face of the cliff (Nicholl, J. B. 1939. Wall-creeper seen in Sussex. British Birds 32:272-3) was the sixth British record.   dFH
1977 A superb male in summer plumage on the cliffs at Ecclesbourne Glen, Hastings (ES) from 6 to 10 April appeared very tired when first found but was much more lively subsequently, feeding actively on the cliff face, often not far above the beach. At 07:00 hrs on 10 April it flew strongly south out to sea (Bonham, P.F. 1977. Those Hastings rarities again ... Sussex Ornithological Society Newsletter 61:5.). Indelibly engraved on the memories of those who saw it, it was the ninth British record.   * ×
