Swift Radio Programme

This message has been received from Edward Mayer, and I wondered if any SOS member might have migrated from London to Sussex in the past or can remember a huge number of breeding birds somewhere in Sussex, and can help with this Radio 4 programme.
Audrey.

Hello there,

Re: BBC RADIO 4 SAVING SPECIES series:

I am a producer working on the above series and my role is to travel around the UK and collect memories of the past abundance of wildlife in the UK. We would like to do a piece about SWIFTS as I am sure many people remember just how many there were in our towns and cities within living memory.

I guess we are looking for people, in the main, who may be over sixty and whose memory might span the pre war years in the 30’s and through to the 50’s, before the intensification of agriculture. I am sure we will be able to interview more than one person too.

Please do get in touch - do call on 07785 282411.
I look forward to hearing from you,
With best wishes,
Sarah Pitt.
