Sighting Description The 1st year GLAUCOUS GULL was near the sailing club just to W of Shoreham Harbour entrance this morning. A Great Skua and a drake Velvet Scoter W in an hour but little else moving. On Saturday morning the Glaucous Gull flew S over the harbour landing some distance off shore, 4 Purple Sandpipers were on the inner arm, a blue ringed 1w Greater Black-backed Gull on the beach nearby and a later between the power station and gravel piles an oiled 1w gull presumed to be Glaucous x Herring hybrid (body & bare parts as Glaucous, flight feathers as washed out Herring).
