| Sighting Description |
Checked out the Chantry Post dung heap today up on the Downs. Was immediately greeted by a Stonechat which sat on the fence in front of my car. Numerous Bramblings and some Yellowhammers mixed in with the Chaffinches and the lone Rattus norvegicus. Warning: Not only does it smell like a fishing baitbox but it was freezing up there with the windchill! Then a quick circular walk around Pulborough Brooks. Pete has stolen most of my thunder with his earlier report but I did see in addition: Little Owl from Visitor Centre window, at least 10 Snipe at West Mead and the best views I've ever had of 2 Water Rails walking on the ice right in front of Nettleys. Also great close up views of Pintail from this hide too. |
