I've been watching an evening flock of Lapwings steadily growing over the last month at Waltham Brooks which culminated in last night's total of over 100. As per usual at about 8.30pm they all took off and headed north to presumably roost on Pulborough Brooks or somewhere nearby. The regular Barn Owl was also out hunting. Very quiet otherwise.
