Sighting Description

For several days now, as the dark creeps in, a dance commences between a Jay and a Herring Gull on the spar of our street lamp. The jay flies up a few feet above and behind the herring gull (who croaks resentment) and then half-heartedly dive bombs the gull. Then the two face each other and the process is repeated in a desultory fashion. Tonight's episode was completed with two jays on the lamp spar and, with the HG gone, they flew off together.
