| Sighting Description | Hastings Weald records from three observers (ST, AP & AG). Note that some resident species are counted in smaller areas to monitor for influxes. Barley Lane/Covehurst/Hastings CP (07.10 - 09.30): Woodpigeon 2 in, Sky Lark 8 in and E, Swallow 50 E, House Martin 50 E, Ring Ouzel 7 up and W, Song Thrush 15 some E, Mistle Thrush 1 E with 2 Song Thrushes, Grey Wagtail 1 E, Pied Wagtail 25 E, Redpoll 1 E, Siskin 50 E, Goldfinch 50 E, Linnet 10 E, 1 Sparrowhawk, 10 Goldcrests, 1 Firecrest, 28 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, 2 Stonechats, 100 Meadow Pipits, 2 Reed Buntings and 40 Chaffinches. Torfield (07.00 - 08.15): House Martin 42 E. 15 Blackbirds, 4 Song Thrushes, 13 Robins, 8 Dunnocks, 8 Chiffchaffs, 7 Blackcaps, 2 Goldcrests, 6 Blue Tits, 8 Great Tits, 6 Long-tailed Tits and 1 Chaffinch. West Hill (07.10 - 08.45): Jackdaw 4 NW, crow sp 20 W or NW, Sky Lark 1 W, Pied Wagtail 6 E 5 W, Song Thrush 6 NW or W, Reed Bunting 1 over, Yellow Wagtail 2 h, Siskin 3 E, Chaffinch 13 over, Linnet 3 over, 12 Robins, 8 Dunnocks, 11 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps, 5 Blue Tits, 1 Great Tit, 4 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Stonechat and 6 Blackbirds. Tilekiln/Tentfield/Barleyfields: 16 Chiffchaffs, 1 Firecrest, 2 Blackcaps, 14 Robins, 150 Goldfinches, 1 Sky Lark, 12 Long-tailed Tits and 2 Sparrowhawks. |
