| Sighting Description |
A fantastic mornings ringing at Warnham LNR in the fog started with a migrant Cetti's Warbler in constant full song while putting up the nets. This is the first Cetti's here since the breeding colony expired in April 2006 for unknown reasons. The first net round included a Kingfisher, the Cetti's Warbler and amazingly a female Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. If not enough, while ringing the woodpecker, a 2nd bird was heard calling nearby! Around the rest of the site this morning 4 Water Rails were heard, 2 Marsh Tits were in the feeding station, a Redwing over, 15+ Chiffchaffs and small numbers of Redpolls and Siskins. |
