| Sighting Description |
The Blue Tits in my first ever nest box (Three Bridges, Crawley) have hatched and are being fed very regularly by the parents. I now wish I had bought the nest box camera but I did not expect the box to be used in the first year. Recently fledged Goldfinches, Greenfinches and House Sparrows have been in the garden each day. My long staying Grey Wagtail (seen every day since 8th Dec 2008) found a mate in March of this year. On 20th May two very recently fledged chicks were bought to the garden to be fed by both parents. This morning whilst listening to a very long judgement by a Judge at Horsham County Court I had great views of 11 low flying Swifts. However the most unusual sight this week was of a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker clinging to a small tree in the petrol station car park at Tesco in Hazelwick Ave, Crawley (Monday 20th May at 4.55pm). |
