Sighting Description

At No Man's Land between the Roundhill and Cissbury a HONEY BUZZARD from W soared around with up to four Common Buzzards which often dive bombed it from 10.40 to 11.04 when it moved E along South Downs Way, close enough at times to see underwing stripes, one inner primary missing from right wing. Other raptors were a Hobby, a Sparrowhawk and Kestrels while along Monarch's Way passerines included seven smashing Wheatears, two Whinchats (our first in Sussex this year) and a Stonechat while among butterflies up to 30 walls and a clouded yellow caught our eyes.
