Two Nightingales were singing along Marlpit Lane near Woodmancote at 11am this morning. Both were singing from the new plantation on the east side of the lane about 200 metres north of the amenity tip between grid ref: SU 7821 0789 and SU 7822 0793. These are much earlier than in the previous three years and, in fact, they are the earliest I have ever heard them at Marlpit Lane, the previous earliest being on 15 April 1997.
