| Sighting Description |
This weekend we encountered a number of birds which appear to have moved in to Shoreham for the winter. Linnet and Goldfinch flocks have moved into the town and a couple of Grey Wagtails have been feeding around our house. Jays, which are absent from this area in the summer, can now be seen most days ferrying acorns around. However, perhaps the recent bad weather was the main reason for the three unexpected species we saw this weekend. A Green Woodpecker was flying over the Upper Shoreham Road, a Pheasant was in Buckingham Road near the centre of town and a Dartford Warbler was accompanied by a Stonechat by Shorepine besides the Adur, the first Dartford we have seen in Shoreham away from the coast. |
