| Sighting Description |
A few bits and pieces around the Shoreham Harbour/Southwick Canal area today: a seemingly lost Dark-bellied Brent Goose that circled the harbour mouth several times before heading up river towards Shoreham, 3 Black-tailed Godwits on the mudflats by the sailing club at the E end of Harbour Way, 2 Purple Sandpipers on the inner west arm of Shoreham Harbour with 14 Turnstone and 3 on the concrete boulders on the E side of the east arm at high tide, and 5 Red-breasted Mergansers (3 males) on Southwick Canal. A large influx of gulls into the Shoreham area with 300 Herring Gulls on the mud by the sailing club and several hundred more scattered along Shoreham Beach. Well worth a careful look through for any gull enthusiasts out there....! |
