| Sighting Description |
Happy New Year to all, got out a bit today starting at Swanbourne Lake where we managed to find a redhead Smew. Moving onto West Wittering we saw the RED-BREASTED GOOSE and BLACK BRANT before they were flushed by what sounded like a gun-shot. At Selsey, we saw 4 Red-throated Divers, a Black-throated Diver and a Great Northern Diver, a single adult Mediterranean Gull and ca. 30 Common Scoter. At Pagham we saw at least 18 Slavonian Grebes offshore at Church Norton. Finished the day off with a single Short-eared Owl from the path which leads from Church Norton to the Visitor Centre. Lots of birders out in the field today so look forward to pages of sightings! 81 species seen. |
