My husband and I were lucky enough to see a Little Egret in action upon a small ornamental lake in the grounds of Firle Place just outside of Lewes. We spotted him at about 1pm today. After catching his fish he retreated to the trees, where he joined a Grey Heron that was also enjoying an afternoons fishing in this beautiful, peaceful spot. We were able to observe them for about 30 mins and take photos. What beautiful creatures. We both feel very honoured to have seen them.
