Please follow the Birdwatchers' Code

The Society's Rules and the Birdwatchers' Code have now been added as pages to the website. An explanation of each aspect of the Code can be found at http://birdguides.com/webzine/article.asp?a=494

The Society's Secretary has been asked by a resident of the Waltham Brooks area to remind members and other birders visiting the area to take litter home with them. Remember to follow not only the Birdwatchers' Code but also the Countryside Code http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/enjoying/countrysidecode/default.aspx part of which says:

"Litter and leftover food doesn't just spoil the beauty of the countryside, it can be dangerous to wildlife and farm animals and
can spread disease - so take your litter home with you. Dropping litter and dumping rubbish are criminal offences."

Please remember to be an ambassador for birding wherever you are and put the interests of the bird first at all times.
