The plaintive, begging calls of Sparrowhawks have been evident in the woodland just to the west of The Gallops for some time now. Yesterday three birds showed themselves in flight (TQ124068). Buzzards have also bred just to the north at West Hill (TQ122073). In the paddocks a few days ago, an adult was busy 'training' what was presumably a youngster with a dead rabbit. A Hobby dashed quite low over the house in Vale Drive this evening.
