| Sighting Description |
From the North Wall I watched a mixed flock of waders drop into the flooded field that is situated at the top of the footpath that runs north behind the stables at Welbourne. On inspection they comprised 15 greenshank, 3 spotted redshank (nearly into full breeding plumage) and 2 common sandpipers. Also there 7 lapwing and 2 chicks and the resident pair of little ringed plovers. On my second visit a garganey was present along with a pair of shoveler. A female redstart in the same area. Back on the North Wall I watched a GLOSSY IBIS fly over in company with 7 shelduck heading for the Marsh Farm area. |
