| Sighting Description |
11.00 - 12.15: A really good short visit to the creek. As soon as I arrived I found an osprey circling nearly over my head, it showed for 5-10 minutes then flew off E. Other raptors were 1 kestrel, 2 common buzzards and a flyover peregrine, which was going E then stooped from a great height. In the creek were 4+ lesser black-backed gulls, 4+ little egrets, a group of 13 brent geese, 2+ redshanks, 7 shelducks (inc 3 pairs) and 3 oystercatchers (inc 1 pair). The only passage wader was a distant greenshank. At 11.43 the osprey (or possibly even a different induvidual), came to the creek from the SW. It gave good views and did land at the creek head twice briefly. I wasn't expecting a pair of shelducks to be mobbing it! |
