Sighting Description

Dave King and Letty spent the morning ringing in the Nature Area and plenty of people turned up to learn about this vital aspect of conservation. Typically there were plenty of the regular garden birds ringed, over 30 House Sparrows in total which is a great figure for this declining species. A couple of our recently fledged Nuthatches were also caught, with 4 Great Spotted Woodpeckers too (3 female 1 male). The highlight from the nets was undoubtedly the male Bullfinch (pictured), a species we sadly don't see very often here. A Hobby topped the morning off as it shot by overhead being mobbed by Swallows and House Martins.
