| Sighting Description |
Early this morning six Little Egrets were roosting in the heronry, a total of 16 was seen altogether. At least five Green Sandpipers and four Common Sandpipers on the ever widening muddy edges. A Herring Gull was feeding a constantly whining juvenile, a couple of other adults and ten Lesser Black-backed Gulls were also here. Two adult Common Terns were joined by a freshly arrived juvenile, also not one but now two beautiful juvenile Arctic Terns were present, they effortlessly picked from the surface being a joy to watch. A kingfisher turned up again today feeding along the bank opposite the car park. Sadly despite lots of searching no Little Stint or Black-necked Grebe today. Still you can't have it all. |
